Junior → Advanced → Senior: the real difference
Junior — repeats what they’re taught. Necessary, not yet self-directing.
Advanced — completes well-scoped work independently. Reliable within defined boundaries.
Senior — resolves hard problems, and more importantly, prevents them. Comfortable with complexity, ambiguity, and consequence.
If your team can’t explain this difference, they don’t have seniors — they have experienced juniors.
